AntPhilosophy.com Drops To PageRank 0
Now I’ve always known that this day would come but I was still a bit surprised when it happened. I hadn’t head of any pagerank changes happening so when I suddently went from a PR3 to a PR0 I knew that something out of the ordinary had happened.
Even though I like the look of a high pagerank in the Google toolbar most of my traffic comes from people subscribing to the blog and from other blogs that I comment on so I’m not worried about seeing a drop in visitors from it. Neither am I worried about a drop in income from the lower PR since this blog makes next to nothing in terms of dollars. 
Why has this happened? Well I don’t have the definite answer but I’m pretty sure it has to do with a few links I’ve sold via Text-Link-Ads. Google fights the link purchase idea and that is also why you have never heard me say anything about it (no need to make it to obvious).
The reason that this is my guess is that I have another blog where I have done the same thing and this too has dropped to a PR0. Every other blog that I have has remained the same (none of them are selling links).
Why is this happening now? Well I can’t say for sure but recently I’ve seen a change in the TLA administration module where you login to see your earnings and I assume that TLA has been making some kinds of changes. Google has probably been on to these changes and has detected which websites were changed accordingly. It is a guess but I have no other explanation.
If you have any sites that are still selling links via TLA I would love to hear if you have had the same expereince.

Well, there’s definitely been a “google dance” recently, as my own blog just went from PR3 to PR4.
Have you considered signing up for Google Webmaster Central?
The damage has already been done, and Google usually leaves a message inside GWC if they’ve spottet something they don’t like.
Søren, are you talking Google Webmaster Tools that you can access through your Google Account? I already have that and there is no sign of anything being wrong.

They sometimes leave a message in there if you have been excluded from the index for some reason.
But that doesn’t seem to be the case for you, and I think I remember reading something about that the way Google punishes sites for buying and selling links, is to give them a drop in PR.
Too bad it hasn’t happened to other sites like JP.dk, who’s also clearly selling link space…
Well I guess that their day will come. I think the issue here is that TLA is easily detectable where sites selling links in a more “undercover” way are harder to detect. Secondly hitting on thousands of smaller websites will have a larger “viral” effect than just hitting on a few big sites (I believe).
Is there any chance that your Hyper VRE sites is considered “scraper sites” and this has influenced your PR?
I do know that you have some sites hosted on this domain, but do you also have these types of sites on the other domains that have been “punished”?
It is hard to answer Christian but I don’t think so. I don’t have HyperVRE and the other site that lost it’s PR and I have other HyperVRE sites that have their own unique pagerank. So I don’t think this has anything to do with that.
