A large part of getting good search engine ranking is by having other websites link to your site. This is common knowledge so everybody that is actively trying to better their ranking is looking for ways to attract more links.

Nobody knows exactly how specific links will affect your website but most SEOs agree that having links coming from different IP classes is a good thing.

So when actively targeting incoming links it is nice to have a tool that can check whether the site you’re targeting is on a different IP class (preferably a different A, B or C class).

You can do this with a lot of different free online tools but the one that I use is myIPneighbors.

When using this tool you will find the following websites to have these IP addresses:

Wordpress.com - 72.232.101.42 (A class)
Dmoz.org - 64.12.193.85 (A class)
Hubpages.com - 66.211.109.13 (A class)
Weebly.com - 65.49.35.140 (A class)
Weblog.com - 68.177.48.169 (A class)
Ezinearticles.com - 216.235.79.13 (C class)
Goarticles.com - 208.122.6.102 (C class)
Squidoo.com - 209.81.84.27 (C class)
Blogspot.com - 209.85.133.191 (C class)
Livejournal.com - 204.9.177.18 (C class)
Buzzle.com - 209.18.68.131 (C class)

In the list above you have: 5 different A-class IPs and 6 different C-class IPs. In the quick research I did I wasn’t able to locate any B-class IPs, so if you know of any blogs or article directories that are hosted on a B-class IP, please share it in the comments.

Besides these pages you will always find that if you (or someone you know) have a domain hosted at a different hosting service than the one you use for your main site, that other site will also be hosted on a different IP class.
